Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science!, I canāt help but reflect on a powerful moment that reminded me why I am so passionate about sharing my love for STEM with the next generation.
The Power of a Simple Initiative
Back in May 2023, I spent an hour with two curious little girlsājust 5 and 8 years oldāintroducing them to the wonders of science. It wasnāt a grand event or a complex experiment, but a simple hour of exploring STEM concepts through fun and creativity.
Then something unexpected happened. The girls picked up markers and began drawing me on the glass wallāintentionally, joyfully, capturing the moment in their own artistic way. 
I stood there, watching them, and felt a profound sense of purpose. That simple act of expression showed me that my efforts to inspire young girls were not just making an impactāthey were planting seeds of confidence and belonging.
A heartfelt message from their father that truly warmed my heart and reminded me of the importance of nurturing curiosity in young minds.
Why Representation Matters
Women and girls belong in science. They belong at the lab bench, at the chalkboard, at the forefront of discovery. Yet, for too long, theyāve faced challenges that made them feel out of place in STEM fields. Thatās why moments like this are so importantāthey remind us that inspiring young girls is about showing them they have a place in this world of exploration and innovation.
When girls see themselves as scientists, engineers, or innovators, they become unstoppable. They break barriers, challenge norms, and change the world. My mission is to keep creating those opportunities and encouraging girls to see themselves in STEMābecause their ideas, dreams, and ambitions truly matter.
